The journey to PDF Days Europe 2017 comes around once more, along with the opportunity to visit the fascinating and historical city of Berlin, Germany, where PDF Days returns to. I’m always excited about the chance to catch up with our friends in the PDF community: users, our customers, and all who inspire me through great discussions and insights that come from every visit to PDF Days. This year, Datalogics continues our tradition of speaking at PDF Days.
With the coming publication of PDF 2.0 (soon – very soon – yay!), there have been a lot of ideas and discussion about where PDF goes from here. We’ve been working with many others in the PDF Association to discuss what we want the next generation of PDF to be. While it’s all very much a work in progress, I’ll be chairing a session track at PDF Days featuring many different viewpoints on where PDF might best go next. My session, “Best Practices in Creation”, will outline a number of our thoughts on what authors and PDF workflows need to consider for the future when designing PDF authoring tools and PDF documents. Also, I’m honored to be co-presenting the first keynote talk at PDF Days with Leonard Rosenthol. Leonard and I will be reviewing some of the challenges that PDF faces, as well as some key ideas and concepts about how we envision PDF progressing on its continued evolution.
Vel Genov, our Adobe PDF Library Product Manager, will be presenting a session on how we can present user-focused vocabulary to help the world understand the PDF value proposition. Datalogics believes that educating the broader community on the benefits of using PDF is effort well-spent – but often we as a PDF community speak more in terms of technical features than we do in user benefits. Translating the capabilities of PDF into tangible, actionable user benefits and return on investments is crucial.
Not only does Datalogics believe in educating others, but so does the PDF Association. I’ll be closing out PDF Days with a discussion on what the PDF Association does to promote PDF in the broader world to help others drive business values. Actually, I’ll be talking about all of the different things the PDF Association does for its members and where we’re headed. As a PDF Association partner member and board member, Datalogics strongly supports the PDF Association and its mission of promoting PDF technology and PDF implementations to all throughout the world.
Come meet us while we’re at PDF Days – we’re always eager to talk PDF!
