Taking it on the road again: this time catching up with esteemed associates in the PDF field in Berlin as well as making a few visits while in the area. Sadly some of these visits have to be brief: while I’m on the train to Brussels it’s amusing enough to recall that at this time the day before I was in Berlin – and that I fit a trip to Munich and then up to Cologne in between then and now. I was in Berlin to attend the PDF Association board of directors’ meeting in Berlin. Thankfully I had a bit of time to see the city before getting down to business.
Of course, as it was my first time in Berlin I had to stop for every currywurst I could find along the way. What I didn’t realize is how much passion the topic brings out in others – even an old friend of mine in Abu Dhabi weighed in to recommend his favorite place in Kreuzberg – which was promptly deemed merely adequate by my fellow board members in Berlin. But even an adequate currywurst is better than I can get in Chicago – and why can’t I get good Belgian beer in cans in the US, like I can on the train to Belgium?
I’m excited to say we had a very productive meeting of the PDF Association board this year, including a number of different initiatives we’re undertaking at the PDF Association to better help our members and to help the broader PDF and document user community. Keep on the lookout for more from the PDF Association this year.
Also, don’t forget to mark your calendar for PDF Days Europe in Cologne, Germany on June 8th and 9th and for the PDF Technical Conference 2015 in San Jose, California in October 19th and 20th. Look for an announcement from the PDF Association shortly with the exciting lineup we have scheduled for everyone in the PDF community – including a very unusual talk I’ll be giving at PDF Days!
